Storm Ophelia in 2017 was the tail end of a tropical storm that caused extreme weather in the UK. This article is a case study of the processes and impacts of the storm

Falling exactly on the 30th anniversary of the Great Storm of 16 October 1987, ex-Hurricane Ophelia brought extreme weather to all parts of the UK. Ophelia was the tenth hurricane of the 2017 Atlantic tropical cyclone season, and the most eastern category 3 hurricane on record.
