Most British people are in favour of renewable energy. This is the finding of a large number of public opinion polls over the last few years. But it might not have escaped your attention that some renewables (wind turbines in particular) are unpopular with some sections of society. One of the objections put forward by opponents is that renewable energy technologies need too much subsidy.
