Alan Baker was born and brought up in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. He has lived in Nottingham since 1985, where he runs the poetry publisher Leafe Press and its associated webzine, Litter. His recent collections include Riverrun (KFS 2019) and Letters from the Underworld (Red Ceilings 2022). ‘written doon’ appears in when did it aal gan wrang? (Leafe Press 2022), a book of poems written in the Tyneside dialect of northeastern England (Geordie).
