INTERVIEW

Making the transition to undergraduate study

Caroline Elliott interviews Betel Bekele, a first-year economics student from the University of Warwick, and Jon Guest, who lectures in economics at Aston University

Betel Bekele

Caroline Elliott (CE) What attracted you to the University of Warwick?

Betel Bekele (BB) What initially attracted me to Warwick was its league table position, as Warwick was among the top ten UK universities for economics. I then went on a trip with some friends to Warwick to look around the university. I spoke to current students and liked everything I saw and heard. I made the decision to go to this university when I saw some of Warwick’s societies on social media advertising their events — everything looked incredibly fun, particularly Warwick ACS (African and Caribbean Society).
