First term at university

Leah Haslam is an economics student at the University of Sheffield. In this interview with Ashley Lait, she discusses her first term at university and her experiences of studying for an economics degree

AL Why did you decide to study economics at university?

LH Choosing what to study at university was a difficult decision, but I decided to study economics at the University of Sheffield as I had enjoyed the subject at A-level. In particular, learning about something that I can see in practice really appeals to me and made me intrigued to learn more. In addition, although I don’t have a specific career in mind, I thought that an economics degree would give me a wide range of career paths after I graduate.
