Chemistry Review

Volume 19 Number 4 April 2010

Iam always interested in the latest scientific news, especially when the scientists behind a particular breakthrough are some of my colleagues. But when the news involves explosives and a way to clean up the planet, I get even more excited…

Gideon Grogan, who works on biocatalysis (see CHEMISTRY REVIEW, Vol. 19, No. 2, pp. 28–31) as part of a team from the York Structural Biology Laboratory and the Centre for Novel Agricultural Products at the University of York, made a discovery that will help to make the environment safe from traces of explosives.
