Hotels under pressure

Practice exam questions and sample answers based on a case study linked to the A-level specifications

In its UK hotels forecast 2021/22, accountancy firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) suggested that average room rates in London would rise by £27.78 to £112.26 in 2022. This would be due to a rise in occupancy figures to between 70% and 90% by the end of the year.

Actual figures will depend hugely on whether international travellers return to London. This will largely be a function of Covid-19 restrictions, but some hotel managers are also concerned that Europeans may not feel as welcome in the UK as they once did due to Brexit.
