Lego

Does Lego provide the perfect case study for A-level business studies? Phil Waterhouse investigates

My affection for Lego started in my youth, as one of the billions of children who are given the simple interlocking blocks to play with. As I have grown up and moved into teaching, I have become fascinated by the business behind Lego and how it continues to evolve and grow.As a case study it is hard to rival, as it covers so many different aspects of the A-level course and is also a fascinating example of how a business continues to adapt and evolve to meet the needs of its customers.

Lego does not always get things right. It may be unbelievable given its current success, but the company was close to financial ruin fairly recently. But Lego has come back even stronger, which further adds to my admiration for the brand.
