Made in Britain?

To what extent does a watch advertised as ‘made in Britain’ actually derive from British supply chains?

Britain was once a global centre of watchmaking. It produced half the world’s watches in the late nineteenth century, which led to the establishment of Greenwich Mean Time. Much of the technology that led to the modern wristwatch was developed in Britain:
