Starbucks is everywhere. Over the past two decades, the company’s aggressive growth strategy has proven a remarkable success. In the UK, there are now over 700 stores. Almost 250 of these are in London. This article explores how the company can continue to grow into the next decade, and the challenges it might face.

Traditionally, Starbucks has developed using an internal growth strategy. The vast majority of UK stores are company owned and company run. It has employed the same strategy globally. In fact, Starbucks employs 182,000 people worldwide. These employees are famously well cared for — the company spends more each year on employee benefits and healthcare than it does on coffee.
