Bob James looks at how different human resources strategies can be applied

Achange in the local business environment can be a real asset for business students. With this in mind, I saw the recent opening of the flagship Center Parcs site at Woburn Forest as an opportunity to examine the role of human resources (HR) strategy in A-level business.

HR is one of the four functional areas that you are required to analyse in detail in BUSS2 and BUSS3. ‘Analyse’ here means understanding the objectives of the organisation in the case study and explaining how a functional area can help the organisation achieve them. This involves examining its current performance and evaluating potential improvement.
