Management guru Michael Porter is a highly influential figure in the academic and corporate worlds of business. A professor at Harvard Business School in the USA, Porter is renowned for his work on competitive business strategy and the international competitiveness of nations. Porter’s five forces analysis (sometimes referred to as competitor analysis) assesses the nature of competition within an industry.
