A-level business studies student Harry Flook offers some advice on how to do well in your exams

Ingram

I was inspired to study A-level business studies by my desire to set up my own design and branding business. I have always been interested in the business world. My dad is an entrepreneur and has invented several products for children, such as Gelli Bath and Toxic Waste Putty. He has owned several businesses — some more successful than others — and has gained a wealth of experience that he is always keen to share. This helped give me the confidence to take A-level business studies despite not having studied it at GCSE.

Not studying GCSE business was actually beneficial to me, as it meant that I was not revisiting theories from the previous year and so was always switched on in class. I was also putting in extra work to catch up, whereas my classmates seemed rather unmotivated at the start of AS, as we were going over a number of topics that they had already studied at GCSE.
