What are you wearing on your feet right now? If you are in school or college, the answer is probably a generic style of shoe or boot that is practical and fit for purpose. If you are at home, it might be a branded product. The chances are that you aren’t wearing Crocs — and if you were, you would be unlikely to admit it.

The shoe industry has seen many styles of shoe pass through the product life cycle. Twenty years ago Dr Martens were both a practical item and an iconic brand, then Kickers proved popular for a while.
