The idea that Facebook might be about to fail seems preposterous until you look at what happened to its first rival, MySpace, which endured a spectacular rise and fall over just 6 years.
Both companies started out in 2004 with relatively similar market shares. MySpace reached its peak in December 2008 with 75.9 million unique visitors. By May of this year, the number had fallen to 34.8 million. Since you have been in secondary school, the social networking market has changed considerably. Is it not reasonable to suggest that Facebook might not have it all its own way in the next decade?
