UPGRADE

Tackling the AQA Unit 3 exam

Mike Pickerden gives advice on how to approach the AQA Unit 3 exam in January

In January 2011, many students will be sitting the AQA Unit 3 exam for the first time. This Upgrade explains how the BUSS3 Strategies for Success paper is structured, what skills the examiners are looking for and how best to approach it.

Unit 3 is assessed through an unseen case study. The case study will feature an established business which is contemplating a specific decision, such as entering a new market, bringing out a new product or relocating abroad. The case will provide information on each of the functional areas of the business, and in addition, there will be four appendices of data for each functional area which you will be expected to analyse.
