(1) Calculate the percentage change in exports between 1990 and 2008 in (a) China and (b) the UK. Consider what factors might have caused the difference.

(2) In 2001, China joined the World Trade Organization. This made it easier for China to import and export goods worldwide. Use Figure 2 to outline the impact this had on Chinese levels of trade.
