Entrepreneurs

Tea and cakes and rock and roll

Taking part in BBC Three’s The Last Millionaire and competing with 11 of the top young entrepreneurs in Britain was just another challenge for Natalie Haywood in her increasingly successful career. Martyn Lucas finds out more

There are many qualities that go into making a successful entrepreneur, and who better to discuss them with, over a cup of the highest quality tea, than Liverpool’s leading young female entrepreneur, Natalie Haywood.

At 27, Natalie is the founder of the Leaf Tea Shop and Bar in Liverpool and is also co-owner of Soundmob, a music licensing agency. As Natalie reflects: ‘I was 7 years of age when I started selling things. It began with rubbers and pencils, and trolls. I would even take special orders from other girls for different types of trolls, and took them into school in my blazer. When I moved to the senior school, the Belvedere in Liverpool, I carried on with my business, only this time diversified into balloons for parties and special occasions.’
