How is a lizard supposed to flirt with the girl, warn off the love rival, and blag his way out of a fight with the bad guy, all without being able to talk?

Few lizards are able to vocalise their intentions to each other (unlike most male frogs and toads, which croak to attract mates and warn off sexual rivals), so most lizards rely on visual, chemical or tactile communication.
