Welcome to the first issue of BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES REVIEW with digital surround. If you have been checking the website, you’ll know that we are building a host of resources to add value to our magazine content. Feedback from subscribers indicates that help with university applications and interviews is one key area where you would value some guidance. As many of you will by now have made your applications to universities, the emphasis in the document you will find on our website is on the interview we hope you will be getting. Reading the magazine itself is of course a great way to find material that interests you and about which you can write in your UCAS application or talk at interview.
In the centre pages of this issue, you’ll find our first ‘iPages’ designed to connect you with a range of online resources to help your study, revision and understanding. The centre pages of this issue have been written by the newest member of the BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES REVIEW team, Dr Catherine Haworth. In this issue she brings her knowledge and wealth of experience with students at Cardinal Newman College to bear on a revision aid for membranes and water potential. Hopefully all readers will have covered these topics by now, so you will be able to use this resource to make sure you understood them well. A2 students should find this invaluable when they come to revising all that they have studied for the final synoptic questions.
