Welcome to our exam focused issue, which we hope will benefit AS students with a series of articles on the ‘sources of law/ law-making’ topics and help A2 students prepare for key topics in tort, contract and concepts of law. We hope you have looked at www.philipallan.co.uk/lawreview by now, but if you have yet to do so, you will find materials to support some of the articles in this issue.
It is with great pleasure that we close this volume by announcing the prizewinners of our first A-level Law Review essay competition. We were very impressed by the range of law reform topics that students selected — ranging from abortion to the misuse of drugs, from human rights to trial by jury — and delighted to see A-level students from across the country engaged in serious academic research and discussion. It is also encouraging to see the responses of some centres to the competition, and we think particularly of Newcastle College and Strode’s College who inspired large numbers of A-level law students to enter essays. We wish to thank centres for supporting the competition and all those students who entered essays for their effort, application and interest.
