The murder of Sarah Everard

Sarah Everard was a 33-year-old woman who lived in London. On the evening of 3 March 2021, Sarah was walking home from a friend’s house in Clapham. She was stopped on a busy main road by a serving Metropolitan police officer, Wayne Couzens. He showed her his warrant card and falsely arrested her on the basis that she had breached the Covid-19 regulations in force at the time.
