The hardest part of revising is the start. You are faced with a metaphorical mountain to climb and think ‘where on earth do I start?’ You have folders full of notes, teachers/ parents/carers nagging you to start, and that infuriating friend who started revising months ago who is sure to get top marks.

At the start, revising can seem like an impossible task. The trick to overcoming these moments of panic and stress is to take some preparatory steps to get yourself organised ahead of conducting your revision. You cannot simply start revising. There are several steps that you need to take to get yourself into a strong position to begin your revision. The age-old phrase ‘fail to prepare and prepare to fail’ is suitable when thinking about A-level revision. Here are some steps to get yourself ready to revise:
