Assessment objectives in A-level law

What do assessment objectives (AOs) mean for you?

Students across a range of subjects often hear the phrase ‘assessment objectives’ from their teachers or see the abbreviations ‘AO1’, ‘AO2’ written across their marked work, but what do these actually mean in practice? And how are they relevant to your understanding, revision and exam performance?

A-level law is assessed by examination, so while your teachers and lecturers are seeking to provide you with a sound and thorough understanding of the specifications, they will also be teaching and training you how to use this information in the exam. Unfortunately learning all of the information is only half the battle.
