10 years of law

As A-LEVEL LAW REVIEW celebrates its tenth anniversary, Peter Blood looks at how the law has changed over the last 10 years

Rioting in London, 2011

In our first issue, Andrew Mitchell wrote that ‘the overall aim of the magazine is to provide useful, interesting, informative and up-to-date material for students and teachers of AS and A2 law’.

Over these years, I think we can safely state that we have achieved these aims. We have included articles that have covered virtually all elements in the exam boards’ specifications. Every issue includes a comprehensive ‘Law updates’ section written by Craig Beauman, and we include many articles that have a clear examination focus. Every major change in the law, such as the replacement of the provocation defence by loss of control, has been the subject of major articles. Other article topics have included how to enter the legal profession and the value of studying A-level law.
